State Associations of Local Boards of Health
A state association of local boards of health (SALBOH) is an identified and recognized state organization representing local boards of health within a state. Their purpose is to provide education and advocacy for local boards of health who are advisory and/or governance bodies to the local public health agencies within their state. They promote the concept of citizen involvement in the local public health system as members of local boards of health.
SALBOHs are a vital part of the NALBOH membership and network. They are Affiliate members of NALBOH and an important link between NALBOH and local boards of health from their states. Find out more information about
NALBOH Quadrants here.
If you are a board of health member and are interested in forming a State Association, please contact
NALBOH for more information.
2018 SALBOH/State Leadership Committee
*The committee consists of both formalized SALBOH's as well as state leaders who do not have a SALBOH in their state. Please contact the NALBOH office if you are interested in participating.
