The 2013 NALBOH Annual Conference is designed to provide attendees with information on public health governance functions, engaging citizens, and the role of effective leadership in healthy communities.

Describe the association between the 10 Essential Public Health Services, the 3 Core Functions, and the Governance Functions for a strong board of health and health department relationship.
Identify evidence-based best practices for involving citizens in public health decision making.
