Lieutenant General Russel L Honoré (Ret.)- United States Army

General Honoré commanded Joint Task Force - Katrina, leading the Department of Defense response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Using his mantra, "See First, Understand First, Act First," Honoré urges business leaders, policymakers, and American citizens to favor a culture of prevention, innovation, and creative solutions over one that relies on reaction and crisis management. General Honoré calls for Americans to make emergency preparedness "as important as football."

 

Stephanie Bailey, MD, MS- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Dr. Bailey worked with CDC on many projects before becoming Chief of the Office of Public Health Practice in October 2006. "I believe that if we do these things right--the policy, the partnerships, and all the essential services of public health--we can really make a difference and establish health as the "preferred state of being."

 

J. Nick Baird, MD- Alliance to Make U.S. Healthiest

J. Nick Baird, MD, is a former Director of the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). As Director of the ODH, Dr. Baird earned a reputation as a nationally recognized expert in Bioterrorism Preparedness and Pandemic Flu. He is presently the Executive Director of the Alliance to Make U.S. Healthiest.
