Lee Kyle Allen

Southeast Regional Director

Lee Kyle Allen is U.S. Navy Retired (30 years – 22 active & 8 Fleet Reserve). He retired from active duty in 1976. He was Command Master Chief Hospital Corpsman (CMC), title: Master Chief, specializing in Navy Medical Administration. Additionally, Lee Kyle is a retired North Carolina Licensed Electrical Contractor. He was a Commissioner for Havelock, NC from 1984 to 1994, and has been a Craven County, NC Commissioner from 1994 until the present. He has spent13 years on the Craven County, NC Health Board, including 3 years as Chair, and still serves on that board. He is also Chairman, Craven County Health Department Foundation from 1997 to present.

Lee Kyle Allen has been a Member of the Association of North Carolina Boards of Health – President 1999 and 2000; National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH) Southeast Regional Director and Past President (Emeritus) (2006). His other memberships include: National Association of Counties Board of Directors (NACO) – 2003-Present; North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Board of Directors (NCACC) – 2003-Present; “North Carolina Public Health Task Force 2004, 2006, and 2008"; “Governor’s Task Force for Healthy Carolinians"; North Carolina Local Public Health Accreditation Board of Directors (2007-present), National Association of Parliamentarians, and “Healthy Carolinians, Inc.”

He has also been the recipient of the North Carolina Public Health Association “Distinguished Service Award – 2006” and the Carl Durham (founder’s award) Award from the Association of North Carolina Boards of Health – 2009.
