Ginger Fenton, PhD, MS, CP-FS
Project Director, Research and Evaluation
I am thrilled to be part of the staff at NALBOH and appreciate the warm welcome with which I have been received.
I grew up on a small farm in northwestern Pennsylvania. While a student in the Environmental Science/Biology program at Edinboro University of PA, I worked as an intern for the PA Department of Agriculture in food safety. This experience led me to the Erie County Department of Health upon graduation. For 3 years, I taught food safety and water quality workshops as a Penn State Cooperative Extension Educator in Mercer County before realizing a desire to gain a better understanding of the science behind the material that I was teaching. I received an M.S. in Food Science and a Ph.D. in Pathobiology in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at Penn State University. My doctoral research focused on occupational health issues of women working in agriculture.
In my spare time, I enjoy music, outdoor activities including bird watching, hiking, canoeing and horseback riding, and helping on the family farm. My husband, Matt, and I eventually hope to raise beef cattle and swine on a small farm.
I look forward to working with you on research and evaluation projects for NALBOH. Please feel free to contact me at (419)353-7714 or at ginger@nalboh.org.
