Secretary/Treasurer

I am honored to be Secretary/Treasurer for the National Associations of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH). I have served on the North Central District Board of Health, located in Lewiston, Idaho for over 13 years. Our board meets monthly; as board members we take a very active role in policymaking and oversight. Our health district has been an active member of NALBOH for many years, I have attended the last 10 NALBOH Conferences, and I have served on NALBOH’s Tobacco Committee. Additionally, I was a presenter at our annual conference in Denver and I presented at the poster session during our annual conference in North Carolina.

In June 2008 I was elected by our state boards of health to serve a 3-year term as Idaho’s SALBOH representative. It was a pleasure to attend and participate in my first SALBOH meeting in Madison.

Three years ago Idaho passed new legislation pertaining to secondhand smoke. I am proud to have been involved in promoting the passage of our new laws. My position with the Coalition for a Healthy Idaho and my experience with the local and national health boards made me a key player in making Idaho a safer and healthier place to live.

It is my goal to continue to promote the health of my community and to strengthen the mission of NALBOH.
