Remarks from NALBOH President, Margaret Brink

Appreciation in 2015 and Blessings in 2016!

This has been a year of good fortune for NALBOH because of the great people with whom I have been working. It is my pleasure to be part of a beneficial organization that wants to strengthen and improve leadership in the important governance realm of public health.

Thank you for your part in making this year pleasant for me as your President. We are moving forward with our plans of re-energizing and revitalizing boards of health across the United States. Our “team” is working well and we look forward to another year of planned progress.

Thank you for your thoughtful contributions to NALBOH. We look forward to engaging and energizing more of you to get involved. The work you do benefits many leaders in many public health communities. Each of us brings, shares and communicates what we are able, to make NALBOH continue forward. Your talents are appreciated!

Thank you to the Badger Bay Management Crew and our NALBOH Staff! We are dependent on the technical and professional support that has been forthcoming. NALBOH is in a better place now and poised to be even more successful in the near future. It is a great pleasure to work with the staff assigned to assist and move NALBOH forward. This is a professional relationship we have and I am so appreciative of what we have.

I am thankful for all you do for NALBOH and Public Health.

Funding Opportunity: Invest Health

We are excited to announce Invest Health, a pioneering, multi-sector initiative to improve health in mid-sized cities across the country. The initiative is a partnership of The Reinvestment Fund and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Invest Health will work to fully incorporate health outcomes into community development activity and fundamentally change how we revitalize neighborhoods across the country. Leaders representing up to 50 mid-sized cities will work to align people, strategies and capital to improve the factors that drive health in low-income neighborhoods—from a scarcity of quality jobs, affordable housing and nutritious food, to high crime rates and unhealthy environmental conditions.
