NALBOH Recorded Webinar Now Available
Title: Evidence for Action: A Resource for Local Boards of Health

NALBOH and Evidence for Action held a webinar last week to discuss opportunities and partnerships, along with a funding project into action!

Please click here for the webinar recording.

The Evidence for Action (E4A) funds rigorous research evaluating health and other outcomes of local, state, and national policies, programs, and interventions in order to determine which strategies are likely to be most effective in improving population health, well-being, and health equity. This webinar is designed to introduce representatives of local boards of health to E4A as both a source of potential funding for local research projects and a resource for high-quality evidence to inform your decision-making about programs and policies that impact the health, equity, and well-being of your communities and constituents.

NALBOH Partnership with Michigan Public Health Training Center - Governance in Action

Announcing: The 500 Cities Project Interactive Website

The launch of the interactive website for the 500 Cities Project was launched at the beginning of March. This public, interactive website allows users to retrieve, view, and explore uniformly-defined selected city and census tract-level data for the largest 500 US cities for conditions, behaviors, and risk factors that have a substantial impact on population health. The interactive mapping application also enables users to zoom in to their neighborhood and explore their local data in the larger context of their city.

The release of the interactive web application complements the early December release of the project map books and data. The project represents the first-of-its kind data analysis for the 500 largest American cities, and the census tracts within these cities, to identify, analyze, and report data for 27 chronic disease measures.
