Public Health Accreditation

Accreditation
This is the NACCHO site for accreditation. NACCHO "convened a committee of eight local health officials to discuss the benefits and challenges of implementing a national accreditation system for local health departments. As part of this work, the committee is exploring state efforts to develop standards and implement accreditation of local public health agencies. Simultaneously, work is occurring on the development of a national set of performance measures for local public health systems. Both of these efforts can help to lay the groundwork for a future accreditation system."

Michigan Local Public Health Accreditation Program
"The Michigan Local Public Health Accreditation Program seeks to assure and enhance the quality of local public health in Michigan by identifying and promoting the implementation of public health standards for local public health departments, and evaluating and accrediting local health departments on their ability to meet these standards." The site contains links to the commission, an on-site calendar, the 1999-2001 tools and other links.
