CDC WONDER is "an easy-to-use system that provides a single point of access
to a wide variety of CDC reports, guidelines, and numeric public health data."
There is an Anonymous User option to log into the system where you can search
for MMWR articles, find CDC staff members, post notices and announcements, and
find data sets.

Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP)
CDC’s NCCDPHP is at the forefront of the nation's efforts to prevent and control chronic diseases. The center conducts studies to better understand the causes of these diseases, supports programs to promote healthy behaviors, and monitors the health of the nation through surveys. The site contains links to chronic diseases, nutrition and physical activity, genomics, healthy youth, healthy aging, safe motherhood, oral health, and more.

The NCEH work "to prevent illness, disability, and death from interactions
between people and the environment." Their site contains information on
their programs, publications, a version for kids, and resources in Spanish with
an emphasis on Hispanic issues.

This center contains resources for HIV, STDs, and TB prevention. The site contains

The site contains links to disease information, journals, prevention information
for emerging diseases, travelers' health, and surveillance resources.

Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC)
The NCIPC "works to reduce morbidity, disability, mortality, and costs
associated with injuries. The site has links for resources associated from injuries
resulting from violence and unintentional or accidental causes. The site also
contains links to surveillance, publications, care, an electronic newsletter,
grants and funding, and statistics.

Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS)
"NEDSS is an initiative that promotes the use of data and information system
standards to advance the development of efficient, integrated, and interoperable
surveillance systems at federal, state and local levels. This broad initiative
is designed to: a) facilitate the electronic transfer of appropriate information
from clinical information systems in the health care industry to public health
departments; b) reduce provider burden in the provision of information; and
c) enhance both the timeliness and quality of information provided.

Immunization Program (NIP)
The NIP "provides consultation, training, statistical, promotional, educational,
epidemiological, and technical services to assist health departments in planning,
developing, and implementing immunization programs." The site contains
links to immunization registries, vaccine programs, clinical assessment programs,

Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
NIOSH is the only "Federal Institute responsible for conducting research
and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related illnesses and

This office at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) works to promote
health and quality of life by preventing and controlling the disproportionate

CDC - Oral
Health Resources
The site contains a variety of oral health resources, guidelines and recommendations, data systems, and state-based oral health program information. CDC is the lead federal agency responsible for promoting oral health through public health interventions including helping states strengthen their oral health programs, promoting oral health in communities, schools, and health care settings, supporting research, and evaluating the cost-effectiveness of prevention strategies.

The PHPPO focuses "on four elements essential to an effective,
vibrant and strong community public health presence: the public health workforce,
organizational effectiveness, the scientific capacity of public health laboratories,

Health Training Network (PHTN)
Sponsored by the CDC, the PHTN is a distance learning system. It offers "training
opportunities to professionals in public health settings, and, increasingly,
