American Council on Science and Health (ACSH)
ACSH is a "consumer education consortium concerned with issues related to food, nutrition, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, lifestyle, the environment and health." Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA)
"The CHPA is a 120-year-old, national trade association representing US manufacturers and distributors of nonprescription, over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and dietary supplement products. In addition to conferences and seminars and its work in science and technology, legal and legislative affairs and public affairs, CHPA is also responsible for the development and adoption of voluntary industry codes and guidelines." The site provides links to current issues, meetings, publications, statistics, international issues and member products.

Consumer Product Safety Commission
The CPSC is an independent Federal regulatory agency that "help keep American families safe by reducing the risk of injury or death from consumer products." There is information for kids, an opportunity to report unsafe products, information on recalls, businesses, a library and information for consumers in English and in Spanish.

Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Program
The EPP program offers information on over 600 products and services arranged in categories (50) from appliances to vehicles. The database "is a comprehensive resource that includes more than 330 environmental standards and guidelines developed by government agencies and independent groups and is a resource to help government agencies to purchase environmentally preferable products and services."

Health & Safety Information on Household Products
This site from the National Institutes of Health provides easy-to-understand information on the potential health effects of more than 2,000 ingredients contained in more than 4,000 common household products. For more technical information users can launch a search for a product or ingredient in TOXNET from the Product Page in the database.

Occupational Health Safety
This online magazine is for Safety, Ergonomic and Occupational Health Professions. The site contains a range of information on these topics, including links to news & trends, events, buyer's guide, new products and training grants.
