Resource Center (BRC)
The Bisexual Resource Center is a nonprofit, educational organization whose
purposes are: To research and educate the general public and other interested
organizations about bisexuality; To provide a public forum through technical
assistance, seminars, conferences, informational programs and publications for
the discussion of bisexuality; and To provide a support network for individual
members of the general public and interested organizations to discuss and obtain
information about bisexuality.
Gay,
Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Health Access Project
"The GLBT Health Access Project is a community-based effort first funded
by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) in 1997." Current
projects that they are working on include a Standards of Practice, Agency Quick
Checklist and Training and Technical Assistance. They also offer information
on their partner agencies, links, a newsletter and research information.
Gay
Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Health Webpages
These pages, created by the Seattle & King County Public Health Department,
contains information on specific health concerns the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,
and Transgender (GLBT) communities. There are links for gay & bisexual men,
lesbian & bisexual women, transgendered people, youths, a list of providers
and services, as well as a health quiz, definitions, and health studies.
GayHealth
GayHealth serves the lesbian, gay, transgender & bisexual communities with
their site that contains current news and information on sex, drugs, emotions,
general health, image, food & fitness, society, and a care network.
Health
Poll Search
Health Poll Search is a searchable archive of public opinion questions on health
issues that allows users to know what Americans think about health issues, as
well as what Americans have thought about health issues over time. Health Poll
Search is the result of a partnership between the Kaiser Family Foundation and
The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at the University of Connecticut.
The Roper Center houses an archive of more than 350,000 public opinion questions
dating back to 1935. The
Health Poll Search archive covers 29 topics and more than 300 subtopics, and holds
more than 60,000 questions on health issues from health care surveys that have
included questions on health. These questions provide information on public perceptions
of HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, health policy and health reform, Medicare and
Medicaid, women's health, the uninsured, minority health, and children's health.
Response percentages and source information are provided for all questions.
LLEGO
"LLEGÓ, The National Latina/o Lesbian, Gay Bisexual & Transgender Organization
is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to organize Latina/o Lesbian,
Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) communities on a local, regional, national
and international level, addressing the need to overcome social, health, and
political barriers faced due to sexual orientation, gender identity and ethnic
background. LLEGÓ seeks to advance community and individual self-determination
and empowerment among LGBT Latinas(os). It works to develop and obtain access
to culturally appropriate health and wellness services for its constituents."
