American Indian Resources

Administration for Children and Families (ACF)
Part of the DHHS, the Administration for Children and Families web site contains information on the Access's programs, including: Tribal Work, Family and Youth Bureau, Community Service, and Children's Bureau.

American Indian Environmental Office (AIEO)
A division of the EPA, the AIEO "coordinates the Agency-wide effort to strengthen public health and environmental protection in Indian Country, with special emphasis on building Tribal capacity to administer their own environmental programs." The site contains information on the programs, as well as resource links to other sites.

American Indian Health Resources
Part of the Public Health Virtual Library, the American Indian Health Resources has resource links to: the government, research and education, non-governmental organizations and networks and publications.

Indian Health Service (IHS)
The goal of the IHS is "to ensure that comprehensive, culturally acceptable personal and public health services are available and accessible to all American Indian and Alaska Native people." The web site of the IHS contains information regarding program and links to related sites.

National Congress of American Indians
This site contains information on issues relevant to American Indians and Alaskan Native populations, including, Indian health care, support of environmental protection, and programs and services that are beneficial to Indian families.

National Indian Health Board (NIHB)
The NIHB "represents Tribal Governments that operate their own health care delivery systems through contracting and compacting, as well as those that receive health care directly from the Indian Health Service." The site contains links to NIHB publications, conference information, policy and legislation and additional resources.

National Tribal Environmental Council (NTEC)
NTEC is a "membership organization dedicated to working with and assisting Tribes in the protection and preservation of the reservation environment."

Office of Minority Health
The Office of Minority Health (OMH), part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, addresses "public health issues affecting American Indians and Alaska Natives, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders, Blacks/African Americans and Hispanics/Latinos." There are links to publications, conferences, statistical information, and additional health links.
