CDC WONDER is "an easy-to-use system that provides a single point of access
to a wide variety of CDC reports, guidelines, and numeric public health data."
There is an Anonymous User option to log into the system where you can search
for MMWR articles, find CDC staff members, post notices and announcements, and
find data sets.
Census
Bureau
The Census Bureau contains demographic information and other information
arranged alphabetically by topic, including health insurance data and health
care and social assistance.
Community
Health Status Indicators Web Site
This site is the result of a HRSA funded collaboration among numerous public
health organizations. The purpose of this site is to provide health information
for each county. While the information is compiled from existing reports, the
site provides the information together and compares it to peer counties. This
is a great site for communities to assess their health status and how they compare
to other counties.
Fedstats
Fedstats is a collection of statistics from over 70 agencies in the United State
Federal Government. Statistics are arranged in a topical list from A to Z. There
are also links to agencies, data access tools, and regional statistics.
Gold
& Green
The Green & Gold report is an annual report which "finds
that states with the highest environmental grades also boast the best economics--debunking
the 'jobs vs. the environment' myth." In addition to the report, the Institute
for Southern Studies, which conducts the research, offers information and
links to indicator reports, trends, maps and individual state reports.
Green Book
This online version of the Green Book, published by the Ways and Means Committee,
provides full text of background materials and statistical data on the major
entitlement programs and is searchable by keywords.

This CDC report contains an adolescent health chartbook documenting health
risks faced by children and adolescent between 10 and 19. The report has sections
on population characteristics, health status, reproductive health, risk behaviors,

PeriStats
PeriStats is an interactive perinatal data resource providing maternal, infant
and child health-related data at the state-level and for many indicators at
the county-level. The PeriStats database uses data compiled from the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including the National Center for
Health Statistics (NCHS), the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention
and Health Promotion, and the National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention,
the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Health Resources
Services Administration (HRSA), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA), the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Governors Association
(NGA), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the March of Dimes.

The PHF is "dedicated to achieving health communities through research,
training and technical assistance. We assist health agencies and other community

This site, from the Hawaii Public Health Information
Virtual Emporium (HIPHIVE), contains a rather extensive list of sources
for national and international health data as well as for disease and population
groups, and tutorials for using health statistics.
